Built in the 14th century to protect the Alcazaba, the Gibralfaro Malaga castle is one of the most emblematic monuments of the city. A tour of the castle walls and towers allows you to enjoy excellent panoramic views of almost the entire city of Malaga. When the weather is clear, it is possible to see even the Strait of Gibraltar and the African continent.

Furthermore, Gibralrafo Castle includes a small museum called as the “Gibralfaro Malaga Castle Interpretation Center” where you can see, among other things, weapons and military uniforms from the 16th century. There’s also a massive model of Malaga with the Alcazaba castle and other structures including the Plaza de Toros, the Cathedral, the Town Hall, and the Customs Palace.

The Gibralfaro Viewpoint is the most well-known location for stunning views of the city. We enjoy a great panoramic view of Malaga from here, with the bullring and the Paseo del Parque in the front. This is where most postcard-worthy panoramic views of Malaga are captured.

A visit to the Gibralfaro Malaga castle is an afternoon visit after Spanish classes.
