Caminito del Rey (The King’s Little Pathway)

Caminito del Rey (The King’s Little Pathway) is a spectacular walkway built along the walls of a narrow gorge called Desfiladero de los Gaitanes. Located next to the beautiful village of El Chorro, the walkway is about three kilometers long and is situated 100 meters above the river. Touring the Caminito del Rey is a unique experience that allows you to enjoy picturesque and breathtaking landscapes.

The history of this road began in 1901, when an access to the reservoir of the area was needed. In 1921, with the inauguration of the walkway, the king Alfonso XII crossed it, and since this moment the road have been called “Caminito del Rey”.

Before 2015, the Caminito del Rey was considered the most dangerous path in the world. However, after its restoration, it is now is a safe place and a real attraction for tourists. The trail, which is 7.7 kilometers long, is a must visit destination for lovers of hiking and nature.
